Lawyers in Love

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

Amanda & Brian got married in a gorgeous ceremony in Hawaii. Not everyone could make the trip down though so they also wanted to throw a reception party in Victoria. That’s when I got a call from Amanda. Because this fabulous couple live in Ohio we didn’t get a chance to meet until the day of the party. While this situation sometimes makes me nervous as I prefer  getting to know each other beforehand, I was amazed upon meeting these two that it felt like we had been friends for years. We had such a blast hanging out with them for the day, capturing their infectious smiles, and enjoying their irresistible banter. The saying “couples that laugh together, last together” comes to mind as these two clearly adore each other’s company and wit, as did we ;)  The reception featured an incredible lion dance as well as a much-loved photobooth!

A big thanks to Nicole Brown for second shooting for me. She is such a dream to work with. My dear sister from another mister. xoxo

Reception was held at Don Mee Restaurant

Something about that tutu.

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

Tutus have never been part of my repertoire. Growing up, I was a horse girl through and through. Which meant that I was usually mucky and smelly. Quite far removed from the delicate loveliness of dance recitals and ballet shoes. So I have never related to the tutu and thus it never occurred to me to put a tutu on a munchkin. But then this little darling showed up wearing one and my heart melted into a little puddle of tutu adoration. Isn’t she scrumptious?

The exceedingly lovely Violet

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

When I arrived at this shoot I was feeling ill and little Violet had skipped her nap so there was concern that things may not run very smoothly. In the end, we both made it through and I am in love with the images that Violet created ;) She was not her usual smiley self but she was content so the images that resulted have a neat introspective feel to them. Thank you once again, Violet, for making my day brighter. She has a habit of doing that. You can check out another day she made my day brighter here. Is she not the most precious beauty ever?

ANTI-POP CONSORTIUM

Friday, November 20th, 2009

I was pretty excited about heading down to Lucky bar to photograph Anti-Pop Consortium. I had heard lots of great stuff about them and their lyrics and sound are brilliant. The show was great but to be honest I was a little distracted by the fact that my camera loved them ;)

The first images are of TBA (Truth Becomes Audio) who opened for them. Props to them for giving 100% commitment to their performance. They were a little over-concerned about burning their name into our brains but they were fairly clever and funny about it which made it forgivable.

There are also two random pics. One of the bartender who cut a strip out of the top of his ball cap so his faux hawk could protrude in all its glory (gotta love him for it!) and a second shot of a guy using a Holga to shoot the band (my hero).

So without further adieu…
