Lisa & Nathan’s Wedding

Lisa and Nathan’s wedding was such a perfect blend of elegance, sophistication, intimacy and serenity. They were married at Fairholme Manor which was an ideal location for their small, private wedding. The grounds are gorgeous and the interior of the heritage house is a photographer’s dream. Lisa’s Maid of Honour (and sister) created the brilliant floral arrangements. The reception was at one of my favorite restaurants in town, Camille’s. The food, which is organic and sourced as locally as possible, is to die for. Every bite is a little piece of heaven. Lisa & Nathan, thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your big day (and thank you for the delicious dinner!!). You were both such a pleasure to work with.

    I pulled an old Remington from my typewriter collection for this special session. Baby Nathan’s great-grandmother was a published poet and she always did her writing on a typewriter. Nathan’s mom has lots of memories of playing away and learning how to type at her grandmother’s. Sadly, while Nathan was still in his mama’s belly, his great-grandmother passed away. We thought this shoot would make a fitting tribute to her.

    I had contacted Alice at the Base Lounge to see if I could rent their gorgeous space for a photo shoot. We worked out the details and Alice asked if I would photograph her family when I was done with the first shoot. Alice is lovely and radiates health and well-being. I was excited about the opportunity to meet and photograph her family. On the day, the natural light poured in and the family magic began 😉

    My trip to Bella Bella involved beautiful landscapes, good friends, small world run-ins, and fabulous boat rides. Thank you, Yoey, for being such a wonderful friend, host, and inspiration. It was so great seeing your place and all the incredibly beautiful work you have put into it. It is a little slice of heaven. Thank you, Anna, for being such a fun, passionate, and thought-provoking friend and adventure buddy. I look forward to our next project.     I totally adore shooting children and families. The love and playfulness is so inspiring and I always feel so privileged to be there capturing it “on film”. I have to admit this is one of my favorite families as the boys are sweet and stunning and their obvious love for each other is so stinkin’ adorable!   • Beautiful & Brilliant Bif.

    I was pleasantly surprised to see Bif Naked up at the Prince Rupert rally. I had never seen her live before. She has a casual and intimate air about her that made it feel like she was playing for us in her living room. For someone that has had to face some major challenges in her life, it is apparent that she rolls with the punches and comes out smiling. I will definitely try to catch her show again.
