A lovely, lovely family.
This family was such a joy to shoot. I adore it when love transfers so well onto “film”. The boys were so sweet and full of life! Check out this precious love:

Rifflandia has done it once again 😉 What an incredible week of awesome shows. I am continually blown away by what a brilliant idea this festival is. 150 some bands, four nights, and one wristband. All for the love of music. Thanks to the organizers for masterminding this extravaganza. This year, I was asked to put together a crew of official photographers so that there would be a photographer stationed at each of the 10 venues every night. I couldn’t of asked for a better team. You can check out everyone’s photos in the gallery on the Rifflandia site here….
This is part one of a two part series for this scrumptious family. They are avid surfers so part two is going to involve sand, surf and snuggles but we wanted to get some images of the first days at home too. There is something so special about those first couple of weeks of settling in as a family. You enter a cocoon and your entire world exists within the four walls of your house. Hours pass just staring at your baby and nothing feels so rewarding. And the love. Oh the love.
As some of you know, I have happened into a whole bunch of yarn. By bunch, I mean POUNDS. It all began innocently enough when I made a cowl last winter. I loved making it and it was something that I could do while hanging out with my wee one (like many, the moment I became a mom I developed a compulsion to multitask). People kept making comments about how much they loved the cowls so I starting thinking about selling them. I wasn’t super happy with the yarn I was finding around town so I jumped at the chance…
After the JRP inappropriately and disrespectfully cancelled the first day and a half of the hearings in Bella Bella, the hearings finally began on Tuesday afternoon. I was so impressed with the poise and resolve of the Heiltsuk people. They refused to be intimidated by the panel’s actions yet they were equally determined to prove the panel’s negative assumptions and prejudices wrong. They were respectful and complied with the panel’s requests in regards to how the hearings should proceed yet they cleverly showed their solidarity in ways that were not forbidden by the panel. A great example of this was…
Just a quick post of my friend Meg’s new little guy! I’ll share more after I give Meg and Sean their surprise 🙂
I totally adore shooting children and families. The love and playfulness is so inspiring and I always feel so privileged to be there capturing it “on film”. I have to admit this is one of my favorite families as the boys are sweet and stunning and their obvious love for each other is so stinkin’ adorable! Here are some images from our recent shoot in the park.
